- ATA Secure Erase (recommended)
- Alternative: multi-pass overwrite
SSD / NVMe
- Controller-based Secure Erase / Sanitize
- NVMe format with secure erase option (model-dependent)
Important: Defective drives may not be electronically wipeable. In such cases, physical destruction can be arranged.
